Siliconizer 1000

Siliconizer™ 1000 is a solvent-free, single component, high solids, 100% silicone roof coating. It prevents and stops leaks, providing a permanent waterproofing coating that extends the life of concrete roofs and other substrates. Provides a monolithic, powerful ponding water resistant elastic membrane that strongly adheres to the substrate. Does not crack, or peel, and withstands total movement of concrete joints and hairline cracks. Its bright white finish lowers inside temperature of the structure, by reflecting sun rays and eliminating heat received, thus lowering electric energy consumption.

FAQ’s Siliconizer

What is the solids percentage of Lanco Siliconizer™ 1000?

Lanco Siliconizer™ 1000 is a 100% silicone coating with very high solids content, approximately 98% by weight and volume, providing excellent durability and long lasting protection.

Is a primer required before applying Lanco Siliconizer™ 1000?

Yes. We recommend applying Siliconizer™ 1000 Primer prior to coating to improve surface saturation and adhesion, especially on porous or challenging substrates.

How much surface area does a 5 gallon pail cover?

Coverage varies depending on surface texture and porosity:

  • Up to approximately 320 sq ft per 5 gallon pail on smooth surfaces at recommended thickness
  • Rough or porous surfaces may require more material
What colors is Lanco Siliconizer™ 1000 available in?

Siliconizer™ 1000 is available in White only.

What warranty does the product include?

Lanco Siliconizer™ 1000 includes a limited lifetime warranty when applied according to manufacturer specifications. Certain restrictions apply.

How long does it take to dry and cure?

Drying and curing times depend on temperature and humidity:

  • Tack free: about 1 hour under typical conditions
  • Full cure: approximately 2 to 6 hours, depending on weather conditions
How many pails do I need for a 2,000 sq ft roof?

Based on average coverage of about 400 sq ft per 5 gallon pail, you would need approximately 5 pails for a 2,000 sq ft roof. Actual requirements may vary by surface type and application method.

Can Siliconizer™ 1000 be applied in any weather?

Siliconizer™ 1000 should be applied only when the surface is clean and dry, and when rain is not expected shortly after application. Avoid applying during active rain or on wet surfaces.

Can this coating stop leaks and resist standing water?

Yes. Siliconizer™ 1000 forms a seamless, elastic membrane designed to resist water intrusion and ponding water, making it ideal for flat and low slope roofs.

How should I prepare the surface before application?

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove dirt, grease, loose material, rust, and other contaminants before applying the coating. Using Siliconizer™ 1000 Primer is recommended for best results.

Can I apply a second coat?

Yes. A second coat may be applied if additional thickness or durability is desired. Always follow manufacturer guidelines for proper recoating intervals.
